This "medical professional" clearly did not actually watch all the footage, only the hit itself. The TA player was 100% shaking in convulsions from a seizure brought on by the hit. And look I'm one of the people that actually didn't think the hit was that dirty, and it was just an unfortunate outcome. But even in saying that, the kid was definitely having convulsions and it was really scary watching that video and absolutely terrible what happened to the kid and tje injury he sustained. And all the whining and pitching going on here is completely irrelevant because the only thing that anyone should be caring about is how the kid is doing and how his recovery is going.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 3:25 pmJust STFUGuest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 3:19 pmGuest wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 3:11 pmI’d love to see your response if it was your son convulsing on the ice. To succeed in hockey and like you need to play a hard heavy game and TRT does that. They also have the skill back it up. Don't complain that you cant keep up with them b/c they play that way. TA just isn't in the same league as the top 3 teams in AA for this reason.
Everyone wishes the TA all the best in a quick and full recovery, but you got to be a little stronger on your skates and always have your head on a swivel.

I understand your concerns, and I don’t want to take away from the seriousness of the situation. However, I’ve noticed that the term “convulsing” has been used repeatedly in your comments. As a medical professional, I have to say that I did not see any evidence of convulsions during the incident. It’s important to be cautious with the language we use, as exaggerating the situation might not help anyone in the long run.
There’s no question that the child was injured, and no one is minimizing that. My question is, why would a parent who knows their child is significantly smaller and less equipped to handle physical play allow them to continue in a league where hitting is part of the game? If the child is struggling to keep up, why not consider a level or league with no hitting, such as house league? This could be a much safer and more suitable environment for them.
The focus should always be on the well being of the child, not just performance or trying to push them into AAA tryouts that may not be in their best interest. As parents, we should prioritize our kids health and development above everything else, and I think it’s time to think about what’s best for the child in this situation.
For you to say the kid wasnt in a medical seizure brought on by a concussion is gross. You obviously were not there.

I want to stress that everyone here is fully invested in the injured child's recovery, we all hope for his complete healing. However, I’m concerned by the efforts to demonize another young player based solely on his physical style. Hockey is a contact sport, and while the risk is clearly outlined when parents sign off on participation, it’s important to question whether placing a child in such a physically demanding league is truly in his best interest. Would a less contact focused environment, like A level or house league better suit his development and safety?

If you’re genuinely a medical professional that’s concerning and your license should be revoked as you’re a complete moron. The kid was foaming from the mouth and seizing which was visible to every single person in that arena. Put some glasses on, I think you need em. Always the incompetent people in hockey who leave the best comments.

Just some friendly advice, if your kid isn’t built for the heavy physicality of higher level hockey, that’s totally okay.
We all grow at our own pace, so if they can’t keep up, why not consider other sports or stick to house league?
There’s no need to pressure them into playing at a level that doesn’t fit, they should enjoy the game and stay safe above all.
Sending positive and healing thoughts

Another moron. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PLAYING AT A LEVEL THAT DOESN’T SUIT THEM. THIS IS A DIRTY HIT THAT WOULD INJURE ANY PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ABILITY. GET IT THROUGH YOUR PEANUT SIZED BRAIN.
Re: 2009 east AA
These ppl are really on here blaming the parents for the kid getting injured and keeping him in hockey
FYI. This kid suffered broken bones earlier in year from blocking a shot and rushed back earlier then needed. Supported his team while recovering
Friday the kid was sick with a cold and insisted he play and be with team. This kid is tough as nails and at 15 years old I would be in a trench fighting beside him any day then your weak pathetic ass.
Shame on you telling us he's weak to play. No defense against a goon unfortunately in minor hockey. 13 would have his ass handed to him if fighting was allowed. He will never play JR to ever find out.

I bet all the families that bailed from TA this season are grinning like they just dodged a bullet, counting their lucky stars every single day.
