This looks terrible because MR is a good team, but what if this happened to WM? same rules and penalty would apply...so G's hands were tied here.

Of course it applies to all teams. Players are penalized either way.

If they took away the points for the HV game game they had to do the same for the rest of the teams affected. Again, feel for the players, the but the G clearly states the rules, coaches should be suspended for next year and org should be heavily fined.
I’m way too invested here considering this isn’t my team.

But I would love to better understand the argument for how and why a trainer at large lacking qualifications (or whatever other clerical error involves them), who has no actual direct involvement with coaching or day-to-day activities with the team, can have such a huge impact that the team is penalized for this.

This should impact the club not the individual team.

I'm not hearing there was any malice with this trainer being on the bench. Was it just laziness on his part to do his due diligence for his certification?
For sure there needs to be punishment, because it seems like the 100+ other teams staff seem to have their $hit together, so he should get some sanctions against him.

But the punishment here is so sever to destroy the season for those kids. We played MR this season in a tournament, they seemed like a great group of kids that played a sound structured game. They deserve to battle in the post season. I hope they overturn this for their sake. It would be a bummer to not even let their coach participate, but that's probably a minimum penalty that he gets suspended for the rest of the season and x-games the next time he goes to coach in the OHF.

The only way I can see supporting all those game defaults is if the Trainer was providing the players some kind of tremendous performance advantage being on the bench. Or was he actually in Rattlers uniform scoring a hattrick a game.

But isn’t a trainer at large part of the club, not designated to specific team?

If that’s the case, why is this individual team being penalized???

It should be a club issue not team.

You think a trainer is a large part of the club?? I'm gonna say tje trainer had next to no impact on the results on the ice! Yes trainer play an important role in health and safety, but I don't think trainer is impacting the outcome of the game. So all those games get thrown out the window cuz trainer doesn't have cert? Rattlers are definitely a top 3 team in the West and had a real chance to win the league. Now they won't even be a playoff team cuz of this. Punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime.

Wait for it.... wait for it.... the Vaughan troll is going to come back spouting how rules are rules and no excuses but if it was his kid he'd be freaking out and gathering his friends.

Suspend the coaches for the rest of year or even for next year...fine the organization

but dont punish the kids...they did nothing wrong.
Not an MR parent but couldn’t agree more. Really hope someone is petitioning the G on behalf of the players. To retroactively default half of their games months after they were played, and effectively end their very strong season, is shameful. There has to be a better solution, one that actually has the players best interests taken into consideration.

If there is truth to this being a result of a spiteful parent on another team reporting a clerical error, that person should be totally ashamed of themselves.
She doesn’t care actually the opposite she proud of it ! Her son will pay for it more then her most likely no one wants to see either one at an illegal birthday skate she will probably report that to careful coaches !
