Friday Leaside memorial, 9pm!! I’m scalping front row behind the penalty box for 200 a ticket. Have 6 for sale
And this is the continual stupidity of parents that are not part of either team. Nothing is going to happen because the two teams will show up and play a hockey game, and that is all.

Yesterdays game was indeed not our brightest showing, the actions of our players should have not taken place as the game was technically over and there was no bad blood to feed off of. It was embarrassing and understandably a bad reflection on the presumed judgement on our team all year. Nobody wants to see any kid hurt playing hockey, nobody wants to see cheap shots, but unfortunately it happens, when we as kids played hockey, and today amongst all teams.

The Scarborough comments are incredibly ignorant and hold zero truth, and if any of the posters can actually quantify their comments, I would be very impressed and will extend apologies.

This team has gone from worst to first in two years, without adding AA players, without poaching, by developing the core and adding pieces from lower ranked A teams, they have done things the right way. Do they have kids that do stupid shit during games, they sure do, please show me one team in our division that does not? There is envy towards the team, there has to be, any parent would want their kid to be a part of a team that did a 360 in two years...its admirable.

Previous games, other teams instigated and started the shit and comments, last night, it was indeed us. How come nobody on WH is owning up to their kid who at the end of the game slammed, with force, our kid from behind with 11 seconds left...surely there coach is just as a presumed idiot as SIRs?

The game is over, we all hope the kid is OK who got hurt by what wasn't a dirty play, just bad luck. The kids who did the stupid actions are suspended, end of story...everyone move on...not the first and definitely not the last time a GTHL game is going to see kids do stupid things.

In other games the other teams did not necessarily start or instigate. It may have looked that way from the stands but the SIR players say and do a lot of small things on the ice that are intended to incite bad behaviour (well beyond normal 14 year old trash talk). It’s no coincidence that SIR finds itself in the middle of all of these controversies.

And yet with all that undiscipline, bad behaviour and wanting to incite bad play, they still won the league?

Honest question. Do any of you realize what complete losers you are? This might be the craziest thread on this forum, for a bunch of dusters. Pathetic.

Perhaps why your goalie got punched in the head? But let me guess, your kids are angels?

Guest wrote: Wed Feb 26, 2025 2:10 pm SIR had nothing to do with the West Hill kid driving an sir kid into the boards head first with less than a minute left in the game. Getting a five-game suspension. That doesn't take away from the goalie and soon that shouldn't have happened. But let's call a spade a spade.
SIR baits teams into retaliating. Sounds like what the WH kid was ugly. But if SIR hadn't run their goalie a couple minutes earlier, that ugly hit never happens. SIR has been the instigator enough times against a bunch of different teams we can call it a strategy. Maybe it's not the coach telling the kids to run goalies. But it's obvious he's not telling them NOT to run goalies. Just like other coaches aren't telling their kids to retaliate. But they're not telling them NOT to retaliate. There are different ways to approach the game of hockey. Stuff we complain about here goes on in AAA and AA every night and no one complains. But we signed up for NON-CONTACT hockey for our kids. And if SIR wants to play a tough, intimidating style they should move to AA.
And I stand by what I said earlier. This doesn't just happen when teams play SIR. It happens when teams play SIR in Scarborough. The VRE game was at Don Montgomery. The LF and WH games were both at Scarborough Centennial. If I'm FH or TA, I'm not taking my kids to play Scarborough anywhere that isn't a neutral site.
Non-SIR parent here. I actually like playing SIR because we have a big/strong team too and the games are always close and hard fought. Single A is not “no body contact”. It’s “no body checking”. There’s a big difference. Hockey is a contact sport at all ages and all levels, and properly using your body to win battles and gain body position is a vital skill. A simple google search of “body contact vs body checking” will explain it with great articles and videos. In 2015, the GTHL didn’t remove body contact from single A. Rather, they announced the elimination of body checking. Maybe that’s why I like playing SIR - we play a similar style of hockey. In terms being wary of “playing Scarborough in Scarborough with Scarborough refs” - that’s just nonsense. That’s not actually a thing in the G, and to think otherwise is just plain dumb.
