It’s important to take a step back and reflect. Youth hockey is about the kids—not fulfilling our own dreams or living vicariously through them.
The sacrifices—two-hour drives each day to Toronto, endless hours in rinks, and online trash talk—may feel justified now, but what happens when it’s over? Most of our kids won’t go pro; in 18 months, many will move on to lower-level hockey, or stop altogether. What will we have left if we’ve lost sight of the joy, memories, and lessons we could’ve shared?
Let’s cut out the hateful posts on MHT and encourage our kids without losing ourselves. It’s their journey, not ours. Wake up, enjoy the ride, and remember what really matters.

Some of the bulldogs are still top players. Who was even on the Prohockey team. Was it just the owners friends.
