Is this comment coming from the SYB cuts....SYB will 2nd or 3rd. SYB D got smaller but more skilled and faster like the game is played now. On the other hand TR got way bigger, but slower and less skilledGuest wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 11:22 amGuest wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 9:33 amOh absolutely—because nothing screams "development" like forcing parents to drop another $300 so their kid can match perfectly for six loosely reffed games and a pizza party.Guest wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 5:31 pmit's one thing to wear a hockey schools practice jersey, but to wear the whole uniform, helmut, pants, gloves, socks and games jersey for tryout skates is a bit much.Guest wrote: ↑Thu May 01, 2025 5:04 pmVery obnoxious wearing that ? Elite?? Lol. And it's freaking uglyGuest wrote: ↑Wed Apr 30, 2025 10:04 pmML did you get your little to wear his Toronto Elite gear at tryouts? Isn't it getting small on him? Got you it makes look bigger. Does that look help him look better at playing hockey? TR is in for a surprise.
SYB is going to be worse next year. Too many high maintenance people on the team.

SYB added small defenseman, but their forward pickups are some of the smallest players in the league—not just below average, but very undersized. While these kids may have skill, their size will limit their effectiveness on the ice.
SYB has high aspirations if they believe they’ll be a top-3 team. Yes, skilled players of average size can certainly compete, but you don’t see many 5-foot players in the NHL—and this is a similar comparison.

I know I'm opening myself up to some thrashing but is there ever any positivity here or is that just simply frowned upon?
145ish kids will be playing AA U14 hockey next season. Some may have an outside chance of moving up to AAA one day, some maybe a bit out of their league, and right in the middle is a large group who are right where they belong.
Hope everyone enjoys their summer and it'll be September before we know it.

You are comparing NHL players to 12/13 year old kids? You do understand that the size gap of an adult nhl player will never close. A 12 year old kid is going to grow. There are several “undersized” kids playing and usually they have had to develop a compete level and skill that allows them to make up for their size. Next time you judge an “undersized” kid why don’t you watch how they play? Take a look at their parents and in many cases you will see that the parents are of a size and height that would dictate the kid is going to grow. I would be more concerned with a big kid (of average skill) that is almost the same size as the their parents (especially the 5’6 dads) at age 13. Sorry to break it to you but it’s most likely that kids growth has peaked. Enjoy the size advantage while you can. That gap will close at this age.Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 2:25 pm SYB added small defenseman, but their forward pickups are some of the smallest players in the league—not just below average, but very undersized. This coming from a parent whose kid was cut from SYB. Then got cut from the team that they were going to before before they even signed.Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 2:25 pm SYB added small defenseman, but their forward pickups are some of the smallest players in the league—not just below average, but very undersized. Watching tournament hockey this weekend with the hitting being allowed, some kids are going to be in for a rude awakening. I sound say parents are going to in for an awakening. You should of dropped little Johnny to A.Guest wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 9:36 pmThis coming from a parent whose kid was cut from SYB. SYB loaded up on D, next year's D is going to make last year's D look like select players. As for forwards a RH F and AAA cuts are goingGuest wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 10:01 amWho are the forward pick ups for SYB?Guest wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 8:22 amWatching tournament hockey this weekend with the hitting being allowed, some kids are going to be in for a rude awakening. Re: 2012 GTHL EAST AA
SYB picked up half of the MM AAA team and kept all their top players. They will be the top G team this year. TRT and LF will be a distant 2nd and 3rd place.
Re: 2012 GTHL EAST AA
The AAA drop down experiment has never been successful. Well coached top AA team will always beat a low end AAA team, book it SYB will finish 3rd or 4thGuest wrote: ↑Sat May 03, 2025 11:04 pm SYB picked up half of the MM AAA team and kept all their top players.
