Only experience I have with M#ke Fillio is playing against his U10 Ontario Knights AAA team in Summer 2013, but we joined his U12 AA team for 2025. Legit.

Why is that?
Word on the street is it is expensive, coach is spread a bit thin as he has another team, crazy practice times, cliche and the kids aren't the nicest to each other at times.
Sounds like little Johnny wasn’t asked back
SYB players seen at skates.. yes some AAA which they won't make but also AA skates. The core parents, management, coaches talk a big game on development and long term plan. It might pan out in a couple more years.
How many kids leaving? How many cuts were made? Kids skating other places means nothing it’s just the time of year kids are everywhere
Or maybe those players are shopping around. I wonder if the players that came over from the west side were happy with the coaching and how the team performed.
Who came from the west to SYB? And why does anyone care if a couple kids are happy or not? Sounds like
One of their parents trying to stir up interest in little Johnny cause he was cut.

SYB appears to be a well rounded team with room for improvement as most teams are at this age. Why so much talk about them. Sounds like parents trying to stir the pot.

Westhill is well-coached. The team isn't loaded with talent (other than the one goalie) but they give better teams trouble.
Aged well!

"Why does anyone care if a couple kids are happy or not?" What kind of a foolish quote is that? Not specific to the Young Bruins but, the point of hockey at this age is to make as many kids as possible, develop, have fun and enjoy the game. Anyone saying they don't care about some kids being happy shouldn't be coaching!

Its February 15. Congrats. We made it to the date where teams can announce their coaches for next year. If your kid is a good player and isn't on one of the top 2 AA teams, you should call the coaches from those teams and see if they have a spot for you. In the East, there are honestly two great teams with good culture. There is always a little movement for the right kids and families. Good luck in the playoffs to everyone.
Hope everyone can navigate this weird part of the season with what is right for their child in mind.

Based upon what!? That team looked worse than it did at the start of season when we played them.. NYK, TR, MI are decently coached teams.
I don't agree with this, what I see from the top 2-3 teams that stands out to me is the level of skill these kids have vs everyone under them. Top end yes, but the floor more so. It's starts from novice years and the development that was put in over the last 3-4yrs, ie; skating!!! Gaging a teams record and using that as the measuring stick isn't accurate, that just comes with recruitment (typically from parents) at this age.

3 teams at the top of the standings but only 2 have good culture? Do tell

Skated with EE this weekend - anyone know how the coach is? Any advice? Heard mixed things but didn't get a chance to speak to him long.

Also - better to play top team AA or bottom team AAA? Reps are looking but coach doesn't seem... Knowledgeable?

Probably better to speak with the coach for longer or parents on the current team than listen to anybody on here.

Hard to argue with success. 55-6-5 so far this year with 4 tourney championships and 72-8-5 last year with 4 tourney championships and regular season East title. Great kids on team that hang out away from the rink and excellent parent group.
