We just committed to the G from Omha and a parent told
Me about this site. What a tire fire this year is going to be.
Is anyone a good
Coach in the G???
If you just committed then your coach is good right???
No clue now ! They all get slandered so badly on here it’s hard to sift through the crazy.
Coaches only get grilled from parents who's kids are not good enough and don't realize it yet. Those kids usually all end up on the same team by u12 anyways
They all have their pros and cons. Do what’s best for your kid.
JRC – Decent guy, parent coach to an underager, can and will always recruit well. Top-end kids will thrive in this environment.
DMF – Coach is a yeller, not for everyone but gets a lot out of his team. The team runs through one player. Good opportunity for others if leaving for the free TM/TBD Brick ride.
TM – Mixed reviews—you either love him or hate him. He’ll do everything in his power to win. Bottom players will not like this environment. Uncle coach and parent coach. Mostly relies on small-area skill drills.
TYN – decent guy, good program. Parent coach to a weaker player, which shouldn’t sit right with parents. One of the weaker coaches in U11. Will be replaced by U12.
NYR – Lacks in X’s and O’s but will push your player more than most in terms of individual skill development. Complete rebuild, but not a bad thing since that parent group was nuts.
VK – Dysfunctional group, will be replaced by DDM at the end of the season. Buyer beware.
RHC – Great guy and the best coach in training. Early in his professional development, but sometimes lacks the stones to make tough decisions independently.
MR – Yeller. 3/4 of the coaches are parents. Best in the U11 group in terms of X’s and O’s, but the program is geared more towards U16 and stifles creativity. Not the right environment for everyone.
MS – Nice guy, but the team will remain a bottom-end team due to an unwillingness to make hard decisions and doubling down on AA-caliber players.
TT – Great new coach, knows his stuff, but NYR crazies coming in could cause problems right away.
TRW – OMHA rebuild, which is a good thing. Cheap version of MR’s coaching style.
