Nats are going to be #1!! Top coach Aaron and the fastest team around. Nats will destroy jrc, Marlies and vk! Top talent, top goalie, top kids. 1-2-3 NATS!! get ready to play us this spring we will DESTROY!
This dude was lurking around Scotiabank Pond all day today. Imagine being a grown ass man and having the time to watch 9 year old boys playing hockey during a work day, when the games are unrelated to your own kid? Get a life and stick with the kids/team you've already committed to.
He’s doing exactly what he should be doing as a U10 coach. There were other coaches there too. Either scouting for potential players, seeing how their recruited players stack up and what their gameplay weaknesses are, and looking at how other teams play.
I don’t know the guy and have nothing to do with the Nats, but on this point you’re wrong.
Nothing wrong with Nats coach looking for players. Every coach is doing or has done the same. He’s an active coach and will have a strong team. Obviously no coach is taking a full team from their current teams to AAA so again some kids being dropped should not be a surprise. Can’t say whether they will be the best team but they should be top 3
Truth bomb - if your kid is on one of these teams and they aren’t on the first line, you need to think about what you’re doing to your kid. Is your kid truly a second line player or should he be a first line player on another team? What is your kids role? Chances are they only want your kid to warm the bench and weaken the other teams because as long as your kid is sitting on their bench, they aren’t threatening or challenging them on another team.
If your kid is really a second line player, then good on you, you picked a good spot.

Totally agree, the “its not the NHL” reference is just naive. Coaches absolutely go to games to watch kids at all age groups in AAA …get use to it.

No matter how many times you come here to say you agree, it doesn’t make it normal.

you’ve been committed to and the team is full and your coaches is watching 8 hours of kids games at a tournament his team ain’t in ……….. your spot might not be as locked in as you think. Get a back up plan.

You are just another misinformed parent trying to stir the pot.
I chatted with the Nats guy. What I got from the conversation was:
They don’t do birthday skates.
They are not full. Still looking for a D
If a parent calls, they will take the time to watch the player in a game rather than a skate.
Take it for what it is but that’s what I got from the conversation.

Raiders silver aka JRC tied PC today. Kings only beat PC 3-2 yesterday. Are the top teams getting worse or is PC that good?
…and Saints beat PC. It’s 8 year old hockey. Go figure!
