Looks like someone is hoping to get an OMHA coaching call.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 8:22 am I just don't know how anyone can make a list so confidently, I know plenty of "top" kids who went to a lot of skates over the last little while. I know kids who have given verbal commitments as well.
These same families are telling me they aren't sure where they will go. A lot of them are waiting to find out where their friends are going. A lot of them are waiting for coaches to be picked in OMHA.
So if you think you have a bunch of kids from the Purple Cobras, you don't.
If you think you have a bunch of kids from the OHP team, you don't.
If you think you have a bunch of kids from Duffield, you don't.
If you think you have any of the kids from T1 Aces, you don't.
If you think you have any of the kids from the NS, you don't.
If you think you have any of the kids from the Toronto Stars, you don't.
And those are just the kids that I know.
2016 AAA

Re: 2016 AAA
The G is so good they need 70 percent of mullet nation to be competitive lol. Looks like Barrie and Quinte will be in the top 5 of them allGuest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 8:53 am Things will change once OMHA coaches selected but unless it is a coach feeding from a U9 team and is well known it is highly unlikely it will make a big difference. Many KSL coaches and NYHL coaches are gonna be coaching in the G and so a lot of kids are gonna buy in. There is probably 20% change from what is known right now. As bizarre as it sounds Mullet nation has been running rampant all the way from Barrie to all over Toronto rinks so they do have an obsession to play in the G and their obsession will likely come to fruition.
Re: 2016 AAA
Out of all the kids running to every skate one thing not observed is any YK kids.
Re: 2016 AAA
Be extremely careful folks. If you (coach or parent) become known as someone who decommits and can’t be trusted you’re done. My older kid plays TM and there are tons of kids who are great players who the top teams want nothing to do with because they parents can’t be trusted. Word spreads so fast. How can you set up a team with people you don’t trust? You won’t be a on a top team if you pull that crap unless your kid is Gretzky. Trust me. Seen it all. And a coach who uncommits? Lololol. Good luck. Parents will eat you alive.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 8:22 am I just don't know how anyone can make a list so confidently, I know plenty of "top" kids who went to a lot of skates over the last little while. Re: 2016 AAA
Until a commitment is in writing, why would you trust anyone? If I'm not mistaken, giving a commitment at this time of year, is illegal and if you are found to be making verbal commitments, you can be in some serious trouble, both player and coach.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 12:51 pmBe extremely careful folks. Yes, I know that this is how the system works but why does minor hockey have to be like this? Why can't a team of independent evaluators pick the 15 best kids that come to tryouts?
Re: 2016 AAA
It’s a very simple. The coach has their own coaching philosophy and how he wants the team to be and play. Every coach is different. The evaluators can’t do that. What one coach prioritizes as key another may not see as priority.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 31, 2024 3:38 pmUntil a commitment is in writing, why would you trust anyone? I prioritize donations from companies like boosted / clench to help make sure the team gets easy schedules before it becomes obvious it’s a sub par team next year.
