Only hope is that OMHA doesn't follow suit. Similar to OHF having closed borders previously and GTHL saying the heck with that we like open and operating as such even being apart of OHF. It is possible OHF supports open and OMHA and Alliance still operate with closed border programming.

Any player in Ontario can play where they want. Underling members can't just do the opposite of what the ultimate governing body is doing

Alliance and OMHA already voted down open borders internally. They have to follow the OHF's policies as they are the governing body.

A local center can impose their own rules like we want 80% of the team to be made up of kids that live here but they are no longer able to hold a kid to the center. If the OMHA says they're not following the OHF rules, players will just submit an appeal to the OHF and they will approve every release since it aligns with their policy. It's open fella, sorry you're not happy about it but it should've been this way the whole time.

THIS. FAQs were clear that any association can dictate how many local kids they want on a team, but they can not prohibit a player from leaving the association.
