OHF Opening borders??

Re: OHF Opening borders??
I said before... be careful what you wish for... you just might get it... borders opening does not change who you are as a crazy hockey parent... you just get to go to other teams and organizations and disrupt them.
Re: OHF Opening borders??
so as i understand it this is for U10 and up only. HL could always play wherever and Select and MD must play at their centre?
Re: OHF Opening borders??
The wording says "no new teams" but does not specify whether "moving up a level" applies the same way. If a B centre already has only one rep team at all age groups and they are just moving up to single A, that is not adding a new team per say.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 9:48 amMy understanding for the upcoming season is that no category changes will be allowed.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 8:25 pm As I understand it , associations cannot add any new teams (ie, adding a BB rep team where it doesn’t already exist this season ). How would this apply to associations where they plan to move up a level(ie, B centre currently , moving up to single A as an association)? That isn’t “adding” a new rep team and only competing at a higher level of rep than the current season .

What org/coach is this that is so insecure they keep coming here saying this? We get it, crazy hockey parents. You don’t think people will do their homework? Maybe you should try that if you been burned before.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 10:36 amI said before... be careful what you wish for... you just might get it... borders opening does not change who you are as a crazy hockey parent... you just get to go to other teams and organizations and disrupt them.

Here's your biggest laugh of the day:
From the FAQ
Can parents contact coaches about joining their team before official evaluations?
In short, no. However, we recognize that this may still occur, as cultural shifts take time. It is the coach’s responsibility to direct parents to the Association's website for program information and encourage them to attend player evaluations if the program is a good fit. Any response that suggests interest or encourages participation on a specific team would be considered tampering or player recruitment. If such actions are identified, they will be addressed accordingly.

Re: OHF Opening borders??
Exactly, I would say crazy bench staff is the major problem, ppl who know enough to not be the head coach but put themselves in positions to cause grief for ppl they don't like. Happens all the time, hopefully open borders will put a stop to this, because ppl will be able to speak out against these whack jobs that take advantage. Without the fear of reprisal.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 11:56 am100% whiny board member that's lost their power. This happens all the time. How could anyone ever discover and enforce this?Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 11:42 am Here's your biggest laugh of the day:

They should really have a "legal tampering" period and if you get caught before this time frame, you get suspended.
Re: OHF Opening borders??
This is 100% true, WOAA league has borders and still will. Leagues can enforce whatever rules they want basically ontop of the OMHA ruleset. If you play in the WOAA you play for the team they say you play for. With open borders you will be eligible to leave the entire WOAA league but nobody from that league will ever tell you this as fact and will tell you their center is still your only option.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 10:20 amFalse. Borders are open. It specifically says Local League always has been. Go spew your nonesense somewhere else.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 3:56 am It's already started. W.O.A.A sent out messages saying they will continue to region lock Local League and will be locking down rep as well forcing all orgs to not allow imports.
Be interesting to see how many kids who get cut in Sprng from B\BB attend the fall B\BB tryouts in the other centers. ORHL commitments would happen before then. This might actually have the effect OHF wants to kill off leagues like the ORHL.
Go look at their rep circuit, it's bonkers. Rep teams getting blown out 18-0, LL centers teams setup exhibition games against these rep teams and frequently beat them but those players cannot get into rep because their center only had room for 11 kids. WOAA is protecting this model
