Re: Aurora Hockey
With open borders is AMHA expecting a full contingent of AA/A/BB teams next season? I would think lots of opportunity to recruit from Newmarket, RH etc. The question is .. can AMHA add teams or is there a 'freeze' on the number of teams to this year given Open Borders.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 2:34 pmGuest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 1:02 pmPlease look for our fearless leaders out in the arenas this weekend. If a coach with a poor reputation is appointed, it’s likely the team will disband.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 4:30 pmWith open borders is AMHA expecting a full contingent of AA/A/BB teams next season? Sorry, if Aurora folk are hicks, why are you, a seemingly non Aurora resident,loser-ass on this page? Guaranteed our houses are worth more than your bomba-clot shithole shack. What you are saying is 100% true. Board members of associations should be finding, attracting, developing and keeping good coaches.
In reality, they are/should be picking the best candidate who applied. I'm not sure how involved you are with your association but I can tell you it's very difficult these days getting volunteers and you will take anyone who can pass the VSC and take the HC training.
Throughout the year, board members should be engaging with parents/coaches/kids/volunteers, etc to see if there are other coaching options out there and available. The good coaches don't usually move organizations once they find a good one.
With open borders, you may stumble upon some new coaches but be wary of why they are moving organizations.
At the end of the day, if you run an association that people want to come to, you will find good coaches easily.
Who cares, it’s Aurora.
Aww did your little iddy biddy feelings get hurt? Aurora has no talent and anyone half good plays elsewhere, everyone knows that! Have another beer, hick.

Go play in the G… so much betterGuest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 3:07 pm So what happens now, do we have a town hall meeting where we tell the association publicly all of the ways they have negatively affected our families? Or is there like a spokesperson that will read off letters for us? Do we leave our coaches jackets in the lobby of ACC? Just curious how this works.

Re: Aurora Hockey
I will tell you how this works .. we get our teams motivated in the back half of this year to win championships. We win championships, coupled with our excellent coaches, there will be more than enough demand for our association in 25/26Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 18, 2024 11:18 pmGo play in the G… so much betterGuest wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 3:07 pm So what happens now, do we have a town hall meeting where we tell the association publicly all of the ways they have negatively affected our families? Dude, give it a rest. We get it, you are involved heavily with the association and are blind to see the reality of the situation. You gotta take a step back and understand why you association is losing/going to lose players and why you are not as successful as you think you are.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 7:33 amI will tell you how this works .. we get our teams motivated in the back half of this year to win championships. A good association starts right at the top with the president, setting the tone and finding and developing good people around them which will trickle down to your convenors and coaches.
I don't really care about win/loss records. It's all about creating an atmosphere where everyone (players and parents) wants to come to the rink. It's all about developing players and being competitive.

Re: Aurora Hockey
Exactly. And to your point, this year our association will be presenting our president with the ontario minor hockey president of the year award, as voted by the amha exec. We only had one member vote against, and as a show of our unity and inclusivity we will force their child to play house league next year.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 8:10 amDude, give it a rest.
