Let’s hope there are no parent coaches at AAA to ruin it for the kids. We all know what happens with parent coaches they will give their kid ice time when the vast majority of parent coach kids suck. That’s the bottom line period.
buddy the right parent coach is the way to go. these paid coaches are worse so many times in so many ways, you'll all be crying later. a paid coach maybe is good at U13 onwards.

but basically if your kid is struggling your never happy and coach sucks, if your kid is excelling life is good, team is good, coach is good. i just saved you guys years of nonsense on this board if you let this sink in

Agreed, paid coaches are not worth the money at this age. Just as many issues with Paid coaches as there are non-parent coaches.

Some paid coaches are great. Some not. There should be no payment to coaches with a kid.

My kid plays in the KSL. Had a paid coach last year who was terrible, showed up 10 mins before every practice/game, too shy to speak with parents and had no personal connection with the kids. We have a parent coach this season who is great. It's probably luck of the draw but at least parent coaches who don't give preferential treatment to their own kid have somewhat of a stake in the team doing well and succeeding.

Our parent coach (Northern Saints Black) is solid. Doesn't give his kid any preferential treatment at all.

So they exist, and I've heard nothing but issues about a few Paid coaches that I have friends of.

never understood the obsession with paid coaches. Often in it for the money and dont truly care.

At least with parent coaches you get people that are doing it for the love of the game and for most (yea there's bad apples like anything) they truly care about the kids and helping them get better. As long as you've got some credibility to coach and dont blatantly favour your own kid it's fine

Nats will have a fair and committed parent coach. So yes, they do exist.
