Dont be a moron. These kids still piss their pants on occasion. Its called diaper hockey for a reason. It starts to actually matter when they are 15-16. Elite hahahhaha. Omg. Elite 8 year olds hahahahah. Wow. Just wow. Hope Santa is good to them hahaha.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 10:42 pmYou don't seem to be very familiar with the age group.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 10:25 pm Realistically and this is not jab at anyone but can 8 year olds really be called Elite? These kids know very little about the game. Should that title of Elite at least wait until they are playing AAA at a minimum?
There are more than 15 kids in the 2016 age group that are certainly at an elite level right now.
Do they continue to develop who knows, but right now compared to others in the group they stand out.
2016 AAA

Re: 2016 AAA
Some of you are too caught up at 8 yr olds being very good. These kids will change a lot over the years and other kids will continue to improve. Don’t fall into this hype. Eventually skills wise it mostly levels out at bigger ages. It’s the kids who can think the game and make right plays at the higher age groups that will be successful.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 10:42 pmYou don't seem to be very familiar with the age group.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 10:25 pm Realistically and this is not jab at anyone but can 8 year olds really be called Elite? In terms of skills there are only two kids in this age group that are clear standouts that I’ve seen. There is a player on the Buffalo team and one on the YK team. Certainly there are many good players but not ones that are clear standouts.

Elite doesn't mean "going to the nhl"
Elite just refers to being best at a skill for their age
There are elite 8 year old chess players, elite 8 year old chefs and elite 8 year old hockey players
Re: 2016 AAA
Parents stop worrying about some kids being more advanced at this age. These kids are only 8. Wait until they are in their teens and see where things stand. Nothing really matters at this age. It’s not a race but rather a marathon.

welcome KC to the chatGuest wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 9:00 pmSounds like you’re not too familiar with Everest. They’re one of the most elite hockey programs out there. Just take a look at their track record with the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 groups. These teams rank among the best in North America.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 7:35 pm Group A isn’t that good
Everest is normally garbage and even if they add the Nats I’m not sure if that changes the flavor of the garbage or just the smell but from my count that’s probably not a team that will advance regardless of what division they are placed in.
Now they’re starting to focus on the 2016-2018 age groups, and their teams are already shaping up to be very strong. Plus, they have some of the best coaches in the game, many of whom coach top AAA teams. Everest is definitely a program to watch!
Re: 2016 AAA
All this talk about Elite teams but teams like the YK are definitely an elite team and it’s because these kids are being taught how to play the right way. Some think it’s about just getting in the ice as much as you can and doing as many drills as you can but this does not produce eliteness. These players from YK also play multiple sports.
Re: 2016 AAA
Who ever said the YK aren't elite? Most teams have 3 or 4 weak players on their roster of 15 kids. YK's have 10 strong players on their roster. Shorten the bench to 10 skaters on some other teams and the gap would close a bit.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2024 12:38 pm All this talk about Elite teams but teams like the YK are definitely an elite team and it’s because these kids are being taught how to play the right way. For the upcoming tournament the ruth is that divisions B and C are easier divisions and unsurprisingly YK's aren't in Division A. Let's give kV the benefit of the doubt on that one though right
Re: 2016 AAA
Full agreement with this. Mindless drills and skills will only help to a certain extent. A good coach who can teach the game, put kids in a position to excel and build confidence is key. In terms of multiple sports, this is key at the younger ages. You want an athlete and not a robot.Guest wrote: ↑Sat Dec 21, 2024 12:38 pm All this talk about Elite teams but teams like the YK are definitely an elite team and it’s because these kids are being taught how to play the right way.
