VR are going through a temporary decline in physical performance, it's a normal thing for mid season. No team can show constant level of physical preparedness through the whole season. The team has almost certainly secured a spot in the round robin, there was no need to rush for few weeks before Christmas. It's more important to approach playoffs in a good functional condition.
By the way, ST produced a good impression today. Though their kids were a bit mean, they played good hockey. Forwards looked better than MNS or TE. But defensive line was weak and goalkeeping could be better. If their coaches find ways to improve that, ST might surprise in January.

Sounds like a bunch of excuses for VR coaches. Fact is the team isn't very good. 17 goals in 2 games prior and them allow 4 vs a bad ST team. Not a big fan of VR and their coach in particular, but it’s not a bad team. They are disciplined and kids now play better than in September. ST are also improving. In January they can probably win 2-3 games against teams that are above them. I suspect that their performance is very dependant on who is in the nets in a particular game. Which of their goalies is better, kid from VR or the other one?
Actually the only team that is disappointing right now is FT. Even WML are improving.
