the best coaches are in the east. that is a fact. professional and know how to teach the game. sure the best teams are in the west but that's cuz there's more kids out there and they all migrate to the same teams. go to skates in the east and thank me leater.
This. SIR is the top in the East for actual coaching. The worst is NYK.
What's wrong with the NYK coach. Because he's loud and not the typical parent coach that's OK with just showing up. And he wants kids that want to be there.
Aren’t you suspended, NYK coach? Or is this the other one?
Screaming at kids and shortening a bench in a mid season game, first period, is not coaching. You took kids that didn’t make AAA and call it a “program”. That’s some development you’ve done.
Keep wandering around rinks begging other top kids to join your team next year, nobody is coming.
Sounds like the comment of a parent whose child was cut from the team. If you’re looking for equal ice time, house league might be a better fit. Ice time is earned through effort and performance—if your child isn’t giving their best at practice or during games, they shouldn’t expect more. Too many parents here seem out of touch. Choosing a coach isn’t something you do in a forum; you attend their practices, talk to the parents of players on the team, observe their drills, and watch how the team performs during games. It’s not difficult to assess a coach’s style and strategy. One last piece of advice: steer clear of teams with parent coaches.
This is 9 year old AA, not U15 AAA. At this age and level the focus should be on development not winning at all costs, especially during the regular season. If the coach is just developing the top players and not the entire team, you’re on the wrong team. And I say this as a parent with a top kid. I don’t want my son getting extra ice at the expense of another kid’s development. And it’s not just games they’ll be getting less attention and correction, it’s more than likely at practices as well. There’s plenty of time for shortening the bench when they’re a bit older. My last piece of advice: steer clear of teams with coaches that do this.
Your kid is not a top kid and definitely still carry his bag , tie his skates and do his helmet up
While development is huge and the biggest aspect right now , you also have to compete for everything. Teaching kids it's ok to be mediocre and still reward them with ice time is the problem with hockey in Canada , go collect your 7th place , thank you for showing up award in house league.

I used to think this as well until I did the research. But judging from your reply, you don’t seem like the type to do that. Bottom line is that USA Hockey and Hockey Canada both say it’s illegal and harmful to development to shorten the bench at U10.

I was expecting at least ten new pages of content after the rangers lost to west mall and faustina. Be better hockeytalk parents
Someone's been into the hard stuff! When did Rangers lose to WM?

correction. duffield
Vaughan rangers aren’t anything great anyway. Average team at best. Can be beaten on any given night.

VR seems to have some decent forwards but their D is not up to speed.
Beast is the most impressive team as of recently. Won 9 in a row, including games against VP and MNS.
All 3 FT, MNS and VP are loosing momentum but still strong.
TE, HVS, TW and VR are solid teams that are improving through the season and still have 9-10 games to improve their league positions.
ST will finish lower than their current spot, below some or all teams of the above mentioned group.
Unexpectedly Duffield showed that they are not outsiders and are capable of winning. A team to be afraid of in the playoffs.
WML is the biggest disappointment of the season.
MT and MJ will probably benefit if they merge into 1 team and go to A for a season.

Can anyone do this for the East?
is there any team to look out for?
Will it be a NT/NYK eastern final ?
Will TR move up in the standings after the Head coach left it up to the parents?
