Why would the org lock up coaches who can’t recruit and are no better than third place every year?

I am curious as to what value recruiting offers to boys hockey department? Perhaps I am missing something?

Recruiting is the opportunity to upgrade when the development ceiling has reached. All athletes develop at different moments and this can been used as a positive or negative. Ex VK only want the BIGGEST players, and hope they can teach them a bit more hockey.

What value? You never played sports did you?
You recruit the best players to develop for your system. If someone leaves for another team do you just wait to see who shows up at tryouts go replace them? Of course not.

I love the CS formula - recruit kids with a bit of talent (not a ton) , most importantly makes sure they are fully grown men! Men vs boys = parents think I can coach

The coaches think they can develop the players to be better individuals and will be a fit for teams beyond u16.

I don’t believe that. The org cares about winning just like every other org does. They also wouldn’t hire a coach as a mentor that is constantly high, smells like weed and unemployed like CM
