I am curious as to what value recruiting offers to boys hockey department? Perhaps I am missing something?
What value? You never played sports did you?
You recruit the best players to develop for your system. If someone leaves for another team do you just wait to see who shows up at tryouts go replace them? Of course not.

As a coach in this loop I am looking for size speed skill and athletism. You want at a minimum 2 of the four to be plus then you rank out what roles you are looking to fill and do your assessment of the player. Some coaches have different values for each I feel athletism is the most important but some value size or speed or skill.

Recruiting is the opportunity to upgrade when the development ceiling has reached. All athletes develop at different moments and this can been used as a positive or negative. Ex VK only want the BIGGEST players, and hope they can teach them a bit more hockey.
False. Not all VK players are big. And not a that arent will be replaced. CS best coach in the loop and its not close.

No team should have a female player for contact hockey. Only DDM would have one. The reason she can compete is that due one will hit her due to the consequences. (Suspension)

Let's start with a few lob ball questions`
1. As the coach what is your goal for the athlete and the team?
2. Let' start with "athleticism" - How do you define athleticism? Is this definition sport specific for hockey? How are you measuring athleticism the physical attributes and the genetic components? (is speed not already part of athleticism?)
