The easy fix to that is, if a non-parent coach has a hockey "school" he cannot teach/train and children in the age group that he coaches in. If he doesn't agree to that, then clearly he's in it for the money and shouldn't be selected as a coach.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 7:34 amThere are non parent coaches that are as bad as parent coaches. A lot of them have hockey schools and etc , so if you take their school you play and if you don’t have a seat on the bench.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:55 pmAside from picking their friends, they become obsessed with the gamesheet stats and manipulate players to benefit who they want to look better.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:44 pmGuest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 8:21 pmI’d happily go anywhere that has a non-parent coach.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 12:25 pmThe G doesn't necessarily have better coaches but people will move over for something shiny. lol and my kid and his team would wipe the floor with all of them…! More Associations.need to find GOOD non parent coaches, one of the biggest problems in minor hockey, Parent coaches who pick their friends and not the best team, IMO, if you a parent coach, the association should be part of assessing players and choosing teams!
There has to be a board group that reviews coaches during the year and react to any problems that arise.
Never will happen.
OHF Opening borders??

There definitely needs to be more accountability on coaches. Way too many problems and people are slowly stepping away from hockey.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 7:34 amThere are non parent coaches that are as bad as parent coaches. Re: OHF Opening borders??
Experiencing this first hand. The coach is intentionally putting my kid with the worst players all year. His kid has played with the best player all year and whoever is hot at the time.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 10:55 pmAside from picking their friends, they become obsessed with the gamesheet stats and manipulate players to benefit who they want to look better.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 9:44 pmGuest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2025 8:21 pmI’d happily go anywhere that has a non-parent coach.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 12:25 pmThe G doesn't necessarily have better coaches but people will move over for something shiny. So do you really think that the G has all better coaches. Buddy you are so delusional. It seems you are one of those parents. I’m sure there are other centers on your 1.5 hour drive to the G.! Not sure if this has been covered.
Has thr GTHL said how many "imports" each team will be allowed to roster?

Re: OHF Opening borders??
Word is GTHl associations won’t have limits. They normally have a large number of players outside the LOR anyways.
Re: OHF Opening borders??
I’ve only heard of 2 organizations that is setting limits so far. I think London was one and forget the other one. I don’t think many will set limits. We’re about to pay even more for hockey now.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 5:41 pm Word is GTHl associations won’t have limits. They normally have a large number of players outside the LOR anyways.

The g won’t have any limits, but it’s a tough league to get into especially on a top team… aim for mid pack at bestGuest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 9:15 pmI’ve only heard of 2 organizations that is setting limits so far. Re: OHF Opening borders??
Top teams are hard to get on anywhere. If you're willing to drive, just about any kid who can skate can play AAA in Toronto if they want to. So many teams, so many mediocre players.Guest wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2025 11:47 amThe g won’t have any limits, but it’s a tough league to get into especially on a top team… aim for mid pack at bestGuest wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 9:15 pmI’ve only heard of 2 organizations that is setting limits so far.
