Bunch stupid parents are thinking about teams are good or not. Every team is same. You either buy the coach ass, or buy the team out.
Stop dreaming your kids will be good on those "fair" team, go home and play house league.

Maybe they just aren’t very good!Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 12:00 pmPaying to play seems off. Kids earn their ice time just like the earn the line they're on. Book It!

Hearing Sens are pay to play as well now
Spend an afternoon with sick or handicapped kids and you’ll realize there are worse things in life than your kid not being a great hockey player. That goes for the people who pay under the table for ice time too.

Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 12:16 pmI would include parent coaches like AM and JY in there too. Their kids will be old enough soon to realize they’re the worst players on the team and are only there because dad is the coach.SadGuest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 12:10 pmBingo! Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 12:00 pmlol, I don't think so. I have a few friends on that team-Zero pay to play on the Sens. Of course, everyone has a price but from what I hear there are no voluntold skates and no parents running the team.

Every organization should have full control of the day to days operations of every team. A couple things that would help control parent interference and coaching integrity.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 12:10 pmBingo! Starting with coaches – hold legit interviews with coaches (every year) that have a proven history of teaching the game and personal accomplishments that support the role they are applying for.
Tryouts – The coach, and three other bipartisan individuals assigned by the organization select the final roster. Each will compare their selections, and the coach will provide an explanation for each of his selections. Remember, the coaches are paid, so this is a employee position and the organization should treat it as such.
All team managers are assigned by the organization. That manager will be responsible for reporting any coaching and parent issues back to the organization as well as provide transparency regarding all team fees and costs.

Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 1:00 pmI agree with the above statement. The GTHL should enforce something like these suggested rules with all teams. It would get rid of all of the degenerate coaches as well as kids that simply don't belong in AAA. Overall, it would strengthen their brand as well as producing higher quality kids. If your kid can't make a team during a fair tryout process then your kid should probably play at the level they belong.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 12:16 pmAll these problems are because the organizations don't care about their programs culture.
