Overheard a conversation in the bardown restaurant over the weekend

BB VP of rep for whitby was talking about how the U10 & U11 AAA teams next season are going with 2G, 5D & 8F

Sounds like they had no choice as the 2 coaches demanded this or they were leaving and taking the players with them.

Will other whitby teams be allowed to do the same??

can someone tell me who got the WW team next year ?

I know they are taking applications for the top F/D on every team and my kid is just that so want to introduce myself!

my phone died when he was making the calls so I must have missed it.

If your kid is a top F/D then the coach will reach out at some point. What position and team does he play for now?

I don't believe there will be any coaching changes next season. All coaches have access to league stats and know which kids they want to bring in. WW may only replace 1 or 2 F's and 1 D next season and that coach already knows who they are.

1 or 2 forwards and 1 D now?

Before it was ….
1F 1D from APR and NS
1F from QRD and 1 D from COW

QRD are the top in this league and they would be lucky to finish top 4 in the G

Most kids are staying with their home center .. cuts from top teams will have options to play on another team and that’s about it.

Who are the kids being replaced in WW?

Made it easier for kids to go play in the GTHL. I would suspect quite a few go that route and then those teams closest to the G lose more players that they have to fill with AA or below kids and the league gets watered down potentially.
