Hockey really is for losers and idiots with no teeth.
Honest answer: You need to be able to reach out to parents on the team you are interested in or reach out to the coach. For the most part it's the same coaches as this year (maybe a few changes) and they will have a conversation with you and invite you to a skate. Skates are not "published".

Judge the quality of the skate when you are there. If it is 40 kids and $50 for the skate then yes it is likely a money grab (and every team at every age has these) and frankly for the amount of money some of these coaches make from this it is totally understandable. Just don't assume there is much evaluation going on there. If it is a 5-10 person skate there is going to be some evaluation and more likely than not the best of those skates will have current players who are coming back so that there is a baseline level for evaluating your kid.

Rebels taking TM again and to think 5 kids are going to the brick
“Brick kids” can’t even beat one of the weakest teams in the league.

Anyone else at the TT skate tonight notice that TT was actually practicing in the rink next to the skate? EC is ruthless. LOL

Dang. ML and GL gonna learn real quick that maybe they should have taken talent over their friends. The Brick is going to be one big waste of time for them.

TR and RL will be the worst players at the brick. A complete mockery of the tournament. BDs won’t have to worry about booking hotels past Friday.

EC is literally the worst GM in the history of hockey anywhere.

Egomaniac with little man syndrome.
