Kids plateau.. some younger, some older.. Chatham had kids that were on their team last year, that didn’t make it this year.. did their coach fail to develop those kids? Or did they just plateau.

LGK is in 3rd.. are they not developing to be able to beat Chatham? Or are the kids just doing their best?

EMC is in 2nd.. they lost a great forward with some scoring power. They are still also doing great.

And again.. the top three team are all doing really good.

The kids who succeed are the kids that work away from the rink, watch hockey and eat nutritious foods. My son was not strong last year.. he put in work and is now doing great. Coaches cannot take the credit for his development.. he did that for himself. Blaming a coach is a big cop out to bandaid your feelings

Brantford and Waterloo top players need to figure out a way to play together. London and Elgin will swap a few kids and end up the same. Chatham has been quiet but I assume there will be a lineup of people wanting to play there.

I agree with this. They should find a way to come together and give alliance another powerhouse - but Brantford kids won’t leave now. The new coach played in the NHL for years and is taking them all the way to their draft year. I wouldn’t want to leave that situation

Chatham is the only Alliance powerhouse at this age group. I'm sure there are a few kids that would want to play for Chatham but is the team looking for anyone to add?

What makes Chatham a head above the rest is team play, they have been coached how to play the game as a group.
LJK has also done a decent job of this.
You may not have the best talent skill wise but work together as a group and good things will happen.

Skills are good but most kids aren’t number 97 and will never be. The game gets tighter as they get older and if they don’t know how to move the puck quicker player aren’t going to last at the AAA or elite levels. I think Chatham has done an excellent job at teaching this.

It sounds like you focus too much on your own kids skill development than buying into a team environment!

Maybe you start every conversation telling people how much your kid and bench. ! They can be as strong as they like but if they have zero hockey sense you’ll be left behind.

Why is Elgin the team that comes up repeatedly regarding toxic development in every alliance thread. Outside of the gta they are the most hated team. Are they so good people love to hate, or is there an age wide issue with coach selection, team play, politics and morale?
