I think next year is the last year for all those kids except 67 if any of them even made a AAA team for next season. None of those kids can skate, they are already professional bench warmers, have no hockey sense and delusional parents who will do anything to keep their kid relevant. News flash if your kid is t getting top 6 minutes put them in AA where they can develop
As long as coaches take $$ there will always be a spot. Also it’s easier to just recycle these benchwarmers through different mid/bottom teams then actually recruit players. When you know you are not in top 4 does it really matter
Exactly and that's also the reason top 4 doesn't mean nothing for a few years. Top 4 teams have great players but also jersey chasers, friends of the guy with the ring and $$$ players. There are good players on the other teams, I have been through this once before. Watch who grows and skates next two seasons. Size and speed will matter not who your daddy is. So much BS here. Go get some cheesies and watch the show. Losers
If you’ve actually been through this before then you’re about to fail twice. There’s a reason teams are in the top 4. They have the best players, and, for the most part, the best coaching. Playing alongside the best players every day and having the best coaching = accelerated development for all players on that team.
You don’t learn a lot playing for a bad team, so don’t pretend that it doesn’t matter and it’s all a level playing field at this age. It isn’t. The kids on the top 4 teams are getting more development than other kids just by who they’re playing and practicing with, and that includes goalies. Goalies on mid pack or bad teams may face a lot of shots in games, but it’s better to face three times that amount of shots from the best players in practice. It matters, whether you want to admit it or not.
Best coaching isn't guaranteed in Top 4. Wrong anyways, it's Top 5, then the rest
Who’s a coach on a team outside of the top 4 who’s better than the top 4 coaches?
TRW - nope.
DMF - not even close.
MM - maybe AS
REPS - nope. Pond hockey.
REBELS - LD but he’s not HC and also leaving.
TT - not even close.
Sens - No
NYR - Good but nope.
You can’t group them together like top 4 or top 5 whatever. AM can’t coach worth a damn and he has a top 4 team. Plays the same 8 kids in big games and his D chip just the puck to the forwards and play very very basic stuff if you watch them and have coached any level of hockey before.
DV, BP and AS are the 3 best coaches in the loop by far. AS has done very well with a team that only has 2 good players. I would put AN at #4.
The worst coached teams are DMF, REPS and TT. Pure circuses on the ice and don’t even seem to run much set plays or systems.
24 being moved to forward. Don’t think he can play D anymore.
Next year will be his last year in AAA anyway.

67 has grown early, that doesn’t mean he’s going to continue to grow like that. Mom and Dad are not especially tall. 67 is also not a great hockey player. Take away his size and nobody would look twice. Once he gets past his early growth spurt and everybody else catches up and passes him, his perceived advantage will be over.
Kids who mature early and have parents who are under 5’10” are not going to have 6’ tall kids, it’s basic physiology and genetics. They matured early and thus have an advantage early, but by 14 or 15 that will be long gone. LT from Quebec is a good example.
Kids who don’t mature early and have parents under 5’10” also won’t grow up to be big, so they shouldn’t be thinking they will be either.
And yes I am a doctor, and I’m also under 5’10”.
Hi Barry
I’m Asian, 5’6” and genetically short on both sides of my maternal and paternal sides. My wife is Asian, 5’2”, come from a long line of short people. We have 2 sons. The oldest is 16 and 5’11” and still growing and our 13 year old is 5’9” and still growing. I think it’s the food?
I think you need a new measuring tape because there’s less than 1% chance of that happening.

Also this is happening in women too. Growing much larger breast due to eating a lot of chicken and all the hormones in our foods nowadays.

You guys are stupid, this is minor hockey as long as you have good players , you can put a donkey on bench still win the game.

Anyway, besides this, back to the point of the original post. There was a bigger kid in my son’s class way bigger than everybody else and he was just assumed to be this great hockey player. He got on all the teams because of his size. As they grew up, his size didn’t help or matter at all. He was a slow skater who tired easy and couldn’t keep up. He eventually dropped out and started MMA fighting.

I don’t know about that? I read all the treads to get a sense of what’s going on in the league.
