On ipads 5 slots but 6 names. On paper the name was there. GTHL had all his paperwork, including VSC in September. Registration with OHF was in September. GTHL messed up the "trainer at large" registration. It was a simple clerical error.
5 slots, yes, you're only allowed 5 team officials on the bench in a game. They didn't play 14 games with 6 team officials on the bench. They didn't play 1 game with 6 on the bench. Ref's aren't allowing it. You have 5 slots to fill out the up to 5 team officials on the bench that game. And 14 times, this guys name doesn't make it on the official sheet? And worse yet, he is on the paper, there's two different versions going? Really?

According to the letters submitted to the G (complete with excuses) from the team registrar & the organization, the trainer’s registration was not submitted/completed to the G until December.
Letters available on the Rattler’s “Let Them Play” website.
If it was just an unintentional oversight, why was the trainer’s name intentionally & continually not included on game sheets?
Rattlers have taken the G’s initial1 game loss/6 game suspension of trainer in question.
Right? Somebody, somewhere, knew something was wrong and they tried to massage it through. It's obvious.

The G has followed their rules to a tee here.

There is no discretionary penalty for intentionally playing a game with an unregistered team official, you forfeit the game. The adult staff involved should be ashamed of themselves.. I know that they are. Should man up and admit it.
People throwing shade at the Association, looks to me like they did their best to fall on the sword, good try. Game sheet is the head coach's responsibility ultimately... he should be fired with cause, if they want a rebate get it there.
THE G HAS FOLLOWED THE RULES TO A T?? That's the biggest joke of them all.
Anyone know that there are EXPLICIT rules on how protests need to be filed?
I'll give you a head start - it's Rule 15.8- and it says that protests have to be submitted to not just the GTHL Exec Dir, but to BOTH organizations, and within 48 hours of the game.
The RULES go on to say that the resdpondent has 96 hours to submit a defense.
The Game was Dec 1st, and the first notice that either organization got was on Dec 9th when the initial discipline was handed down.
No notice was given, no submission of defense was allowed.
The Rules that G are following to a T should have made the protest inadmissible and invalid right from the start. The ED himself handled this whole thing without even paying any attention to his own mandatory process.
Protests cost $100. Was that paid? Who knows.
By the RULES, rhe GTHL effed it all up before any decision was made.
That was ALL brought to light in the appeal hearing, and boy was the ED embarrassed in front of his own panel. So much so that he lashed out with a completely unreasonable and unjustified 16 game default decision.
Was the trainer in question at all those games? No.
Was there evidence considered before canceling half the season? No.
Thats why 2 wins were given back.
The whole thing is a joke, and the rules a sham.
If the G knew their own rules, things would have been sorted when the Rattlers came calling for registration advice in September, and were misled into a situation they believed to be all right, and operates under with out any indication from the G from refs, from other teams - nobody.
But - at the end of the day, it's the kids who ought to pay the price for all the adults who can't take responsibility.
Let's be clear. The Rattlers Organization, team officials and parents are not looking to get off scott free. But it's the adults who are responsible, and should be accountable. The kids should just be playing hockey, and getting ready for the playoffs.
The GTHL is the only one here claiming ZERO responsibility and washing their hands of everyone else.
