Asked to play? lol. They were begging kids to play because no one was interested. But agree, let the kids have fun.

Excellent! Great for Chatham and for anyone that is able to make the team. I imagine they’ll have some new faces at tryouts. Coaching will be paramount with open borders.

Once contact comes into the equation the game doesn't change per say however it is another added element that is a challenge for every player to deal with. Simple things like going into the corner become a challenge because someone can hit you unlike the previous 6-7 years.

The big kids need to deal with the increasing speed of F's as players get stronger.

Smaller kids need to find a way to fight through checks, get to the net with a D cross checking you in the back or diving down the wall on a rimmed puck to flatten you. W's need to master getting the puck off the wall on a breakout or they might find themselves sitting in the last 3-5 mins of a one goal game.

It is also mentally challenging when you add in high school in U15 where games/practices are later and school is earlier and more challenging for some.

BOB itself isn't really the tournament to play in. The Throne is a top end tournament that will have a high percentage of top end kids as it has every year. That's the real tournament in the spring/summer for this age group.
