Looks like Red Wings will got 0-33 again next year.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 11:24 amGuest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 11:09 amIn the last couple of years, I've heard Joe Venuto's name mentioned from time to time, but I have no idea whether he's a good or bad coach. Does he have a strong coaching record or any reliable track record?Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 9:03 am Anyone else at the red wings tryout this Saturday with all 40 kids on the ice doing the exact same drill for 50 minutes?
Is the team full? Any feedback from old man joe venuto?
AA parent looking for a spot thanks!
Team has been selected for a while now. The majority of the team is a mix of OMHA players and Titans players. None of the selected players have been attending any of these Saturday evening evaluation skates. That in itself should be an indicator of the intention of these skates.

Saturday evening @ Sports Village. Several parents seen raging. 50+ kids on the ice. The best part of all of this is that JV is not even picking the team. BB is picking the team, and the team has already been set for several weeks. Unreal... Great way to ruin your primary source of income being a hockey school guy and ass f##king families for $50. The hockey community is small.. People talk... Not a good business practice.
Re: 2015 AAA
JV is the head coach. The entire team is not selected, but they have roughly 10 spots filled. BB knows the 2015 talent pool and is assisting JV in selection.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 11:46 amWho is BB and who will be coaching the kids in the season?Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 11:11 amGuest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 10:12 amTotal cash grab. I heard directly from Marlies parent that Massimo LaMacchia tied the knot with his long-term boyfriend, Cozy, over the weekend. Cozy is notably Marlies 2014 trainer. Guido's absence was due to his role as best man at the wedding.
Re: 2015 AAA
It’s the parents’s assumption that these are tryout skates. For tryout skates that take place before the official date in April, the coach is NEVER on the ice, unless they are brazen. So, the fact the coach is on the ice tells you it’s not a tryout. If you’ve been to other tryouts, the coaches are usually observing off-ice.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 11:11 amGuest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 10:12 amTotal cash grab. "Assumption"... That's a pretty naïve statement. If that's the case, then the 50+ families that attended the "development skate" where falsely led to believe that their kids where coming to this "development skate" to be evaluated by the coach of the TRW team for next season. This smells a little like tampering with the OHF rules. Has the GM of the TRW along with the GTHL and OHF been made aware of the situation?

JV is a known horrible coach and getting pumped next year will only seal the deal on his lame hockey school.
Re: 2015 AAA
JV is a very good development coach with good reputation. He worked with many prominent hockey players, is well connected in minor hockey and is a great specialist. He won't make TRW a top 6 team in just 1 season, but hey will be better than TT, Sens and MM.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 2:27 pmYup.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 11:30 amLooks like Red Wings will got 0-33 again next year.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 11:24 amGuest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 11:09 amIn the last couple of years, I've heard Joe Venuto's name mentioned from time to time, but I have no idea whether he's a good or bad coach. No they won’t. Nice try coach. Or gullible parent who’s signed up for this mess 2.0.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 2:52 pmJV is a very good development coach with good reputation. Re: 2015 AAA
Should we cancel the The Brick this year? Given all the tension between US and Canada, best kids are kept out of it. I would ban travel between US and Canada for the Brick. Make it a Canada only tournament.
