AA parent looking for a spot thanks!
Total cash grab. When and where was it?

Saturday evening @ Sports Village. Several parents seen raging. 50+ kids on the ice. The best part of all of this is that JV is not even picking the team. BB is picking the team, and the team has already been set for several weeks. Unreal... Great way to ruin your primary source of income being a hockey school guy and ass f##king families for $50. The hockey community is small.. People talk... Not a good business practice.
Who is BB and who will be coaching the kids in the season?
Bruce Boudreau returns to Toronto. LOL

In the last couple of years, I've heard Joe Venuto's name mentioned from time to time, but I have no idea whether he's a good or bad coach. Does he have a strong coaching record or any reliable track record?

Team has been selected for a while now. The majority of the team is a mix of OMHA players and Titans players. None of the selected players have been attending any of these Saturday evening evaluation skates. That in itself should be an indicator of the intention of these skates.
Looks like Red Wings will got 0-33 again next year.
Yup.

JV is a known horrible coach and getting pumped next year will only seal the deal on his lame hockey school.
JV is a very good development coach with good reputation. He worked with many prominent hockey players, is well connected in minor hockey and is a great specialist. He won't make TRW a top 6 team in just 1 season, but hey will be better than TT, Sens and MM.
Doesn't he currently coach the U14's that came in last place?

I think they have 2 or 3 top D, agree they win b/c of the D

#88 hands down is the best top D that JRC has, its close but he is the best player. without him they are a 6th place team
Marlies have the best D, 3 Brick D, not even close.
Yes Marlies do have the best D in the country, JRC has maybe 1 but not even close to the Marlies D. JRC #19 hands down is the reason they are in 1st.
JRC D is significantly better than Marlies, and Marlies is losing their only actual D (97).
looks like all the JRC D parents are on this. JRC' D never touch the puck during a game. Marlies D get worked the entire game
You are right about that, worked for 7 against DMF

It’s the parents’s assumption that these are tryout skates. For tryout skates that take place before the official date in April, the coach is NEVER on the ice, unless they are brazen. So, the fact the coach is on the ice tells you it’s not a tryout. If you’ve been to other tryouts, the coaches are usually observing off-ice.
Red wings spots have been offered to OMHA kids. Whether they come or not depends if they want to drive to play on a weak team.

Let’s think about this, the OMHA players coming to play for the TRW, regardless of where they are coming from will have to pay double the price they are currently paying to play hockey, only to play on a bottom 4 team in the G. This team will potentially be a bottom 2 team. Where can I sign up for that?

At the age of 10 years old, If the opportunity was with a top 6 team, it makes a little more sense!

The players coming to the TRW are TT players and mid pack teams OMHA players. So players from an 11th place team and players from mid pack OMHA teams.

Clearly not very smart people!

Happens every year in the younger age groups about this time of year. Then reality sets in with the added costs. The above post is not far from the truth with the cost to play in the G at the AAA level being almost double of playing in the O at the AAA level. In a time of economic instability, several families that have committed to play in the G from the O, will be thinking twice as we get closer to card signing. There will be some coaches scrambling to fill spots at the 11th hour.

Guest wrote: Mon Feb 24, 2025 11:49 pm TRW use to be one of the top organizations in the entire province to play for in every age group. Now it’s become the polar opposite. What the hell happened?
Honestly they brought in people like Joe Venuto. Expect to see big money sponsors come in to line Joe's pockets. The same way he takes cash to influence the OHL draft (even though he has no influence).

Do your own due diligence on the program and the people running the program.

They will be bottom 2 guaranteed. I don't mean that as trash talk. Couple players from OMHA AAA team, couple TT players (not the good ones), and some AA. The few TRW players worth returning are leaving. That is a pretty big hole to climb out of.

Only place to be is the G
What’s the difference ?
Jrc 31-1-1
ww 30-0

There’s always going to be strong teams G or OMHA. There is no parity in any league
How do you win every game and not finish first?

Build a stacked team and play against no competition
WW would win eveytime against JRC. JRC only has 1 good player #19
Just so we are clear PM is their most complete player and will be their best player long term.

ZM super fast and all he does is toe drag. Makes no sense

It’s like having a 1000hp car and only ever driving the speed limit
Sorry to disappoint you guys but the best player on JRC is their RHD #5 and it is not really even close.

People that don't know hockey only see forwards and how many goals they score.

JRC is a 3rd-4th place team if #5 isn't on the roster.
#5 is one of the top 2 players in the league imo. Top D for sure.

no #88 is imo. He is the best player on JRC.
He can’t play defence. 5 the best D without question 91 is easily number two IMO

ZM PM and JD top forwards.

Regardless it’s a well built and balanced team.
