Sad to see a kid get hurt last night, never wanna see that happen, and I hope he’s okay. But man, the way some of those TA parents handled it was wild. One parent in particular, the same guy who was always recording games last year, stirring the pot, chirping kids, and trying to start fights, no surprise he was leading the charge again. It’s one thing to be upset, totally understandable, but to act like it was intentional and carry on like that? Bad example for the kids, bad look overall. Some parents really need to check themselves.
Up 5-1 and blindside kid in boards several seconds after puck left stuck
Kid on ice convulsing in seizures and foaming at the mouth.
You come on here about how some parents reacted to what was seen. Just shut it and be thankful that it wasn't worse and kid can hopefully recover to normal.
This is the same parent who’s been a problem all last season and this season, constantly recording games, chirping, yelling at refs, making comments to other parents, and even yelling at kids on opposing teams. There’s literally been complaints about him from refs. Honestly, it just seems like he’s frustrated his kid’s stuck on a mediocre team or something, and now he overreacts to every play. Funny how when a TA kid goes down, he’s outraged, but when it’s the other team, he’s yelling for the kid to get up and stop faking it. Completely unhinged.
The hit itself was a shoulder to shoulder collision that unfortunately resulted in an injury, definitely not a dirty play. But the way some TA parents acted after was beyond out of line. Trying to rush the opposing team’s bench and go after coaches and players? Screaming at a linesman who was just trying to make sure the injured kid got help? Unreal.
I really hope the GTHL looks into this behavior and holds certain parents accountable. This is hockey, injuries are unfortunate, but calling kids “goons” and acting like this is just embarrassing. Hope the injured player has a full recovery, we have our own recordings.
