Re: 2015 AAA
The funniest part of this post is calling Kitchen a key player. He on a 5th place team and vanishes against any of the top teams and more to the point the underage kid on the team is better than him. Good luck Brick/TM if this is true.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 10:18 am JRC – Strong at recruiting. The team is solid overall, though without any standout players. Coaching is competent, but parental involvement is questionable.
TT – An intriguing team. Belissimo has proven to be a strong Jr. A coach, but it's unclear whether his style translates well to this age group. The team is bringing in multiple players from NYR, though they are mostly marginal talent, as NYR was previously carried by Kitchen. The biggest concern is the influence of Eric Cella, whose involvement often leads to dysfunction. For example, he severely damaged the reputation of Eric Lindros - despite Lindros being widely praised at every age group he has coached, with people consistently speaking highly of his coaching and the way he treats kids.
TM – Massimo L and Guido L are widely regarded as problematic in minor hockey. With no real profession outside their minor hockey "empire," they berate both players and parents and engage in gossip. Their approach does not focus on developing players or fostering a positive environment. Notably, no alumni or former associates have anything positive to say about them.
TYN – The team includes one of the weakest skaters in the AAA GTHL loop (the coach’s son). Players are taught a highly physical style of play, and the parents are known for being difficult.
DMF – Originally supposed to be coached by JE but taken over by RE. The coach’s son is on the roster despite being more suited for AA. The team is largely carried by SR, who is at risk of leaving for TM due to a Brick free ride. Without SR, the team is at best mid-tier.
VK – A perennial bottom-tier organization, heavily influenced by the local "Woodbridge" culture.
Reps – The head coach is honest and well-respected, but recruiting remains a challenge due to interference from Jari/Sk8on, who impose certain players on the roster. This will likely set the team back.
MR – Ammal Esmatyar has developed a poor reputation, largely due to his over-reliance on paid skates. He frequently tells parents, "I need to see your kid XX more times at my Ammal Showcase Tuesday skate before I can assess them," while simultaneously dismissing other players at his skates as "AA level". He prioritizes Fralick and his nephew, playing them every second shift. His ego is notoriously large. Buyer beware.
SENS – The organization has some strong connections to the Marlies at the board level. However, poor recruiting and an influx of AA-level players have resulted in a weak team. Coach is known to be a good personal overall.
REBELS – A "friends and family" program. The Lomanacos are marginal coaches whose primary focus appears to be promoting their own daughter rather than developing the team.
NYR – Undergoing a complete rebuild. While AK receives a lot of criticism as a person, he is generally a decent coach and works well with kids. The team required restructuring due to problematic parents. They lost a key player, Kitchen, to Brick/TM. The Henrich affiliation is questionable.
TRW – Undergoing a full rebuild with Ajax OMHA players. The organization is known to be financially flexible for the right buyers. JV operates at a similar level to Esmatyar, using "fake skates" primarily as a cash grab.

Bashing crazy parents? Cool. Bashing abusive coaches? Cool. Bashing 9 year old kids? About as not cool as it gets. We all have kids here and none of us would want grown adults insulting them on a public forum. I can't believe that this needs to be said.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 11:52 amKitchenGuest wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 11:39 amThe funniest part of this post is calling Kitchen a key player. Re: 2015 AAA
The bashing of kids happens from parents who are raising muffin dusters, look at the parents who are getting cut from teams and you will know who the bashers are. Zero confidence in themselves, how do you think their kids will be raised.
Once a muffin always a muffin. Keep grinding kids and parents who have a brain and can comprehend the game as it gets faster , leave the trolls behind. Jealousy rules the dusters world.

99% of the parents bashing kids are going to the OMHA anyways , that should help weed out who these people are .They finally realized with open borders their dusters can't and won't keep up in the #1 league world wide for youth hockey.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 12:24 pm The bashing of kids happens from parents who are raising muffin dusters, look at the parents who are getting cut from teams and you will know who the bashers are. Re: 2015 AAA
Serious question here. We were approached by the TM coach this season to make a jump from our current OMHA center to the G. We had a long discussion about this and felt it be a good move. So we called around to a few ppl we know close to the team and asked about coaching. They confirmed he was a demanding coach but had good development. They said if we were comfortable about his sexuality and being openly Not Allowed it would be a great move. My husband got uncomfortable with having a homosexual coach who had a “no parents “ in the dressing room policy. We’re wildly conservative coming from a smaller community than Toronto. Is my husband over reacting or has any other parents had a problem with this?

I think this is an interesting discussion, and one worth having, especially in the context of how hockey—and sports in general—are evolving.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 2:21 pm Serious question here. There’s been a big push toward inclusivity in hockey, and having a coach who is openly homosexual could actually be a positive influence in normalizing diversity within the sport. If the goal is to prepare young athletes for the real world, then learning to work with and respect people from all walks of life is just as valuable as on-ice development.
I’ve heard that Coach has a polyamorous relationship with his husband and Big Bear, which, for some, might seem unconventional, but for others, it represents the evolving landscape of modern relationships. If anything, it could teach the kids that families come in all forms and that respect is the foundation of any strong team—on or off the ice.
At the end of the day, isn’t part of what we want for our kids the ability to be open-minded, adaptable, and prepared to interact with all kinds of people in life? Maybe having a coach like this is a step toward a more accepting and tolerant hockey culture.
