Exactly. Both teams will pull a roster together, both will be terrible, but both organizations will get their $. Failure is absolutely an option, folding is not.
Honest question here from hockey parent. There's a bunch of talk about the GT Caps and to stay away. Reasons? I know nothing about the org and the team other than I see they typically finish in a decent position every year.
All due respect but do your own research as well. Coming here for some is fine, but you gotta go watch games, try and talk to people. Truth is in the middle, and opinions here are extreme most of the time. I'm shocked how people will join teams without doing their due diligence.
Caps live up to expectations every year. They make the playoffs but are a midpack team. If you go there expecting more you’ll be disappointed. Be realistic about what they are and you’ll be fine.

If that's all you are concerned about sure. I think performance in the standings is not what people's concerns are with that team though.

Caps was never able to keep more than 3-5 players each year. There is a reason and most of what you read here about the caps is true. This year will be very different as most parents know what they are getting into when entertaining joining that team and it shows on why there isn't much turnout at the skates. I've been with the caps in a previous season and its literally poison. The coach has no hockey experience and relies on paid trainers to run the show. Some are not even on the bench and the coach is communicating through an airpod call with a parent in the stands. Careful what you get yourself into as it can quickly ruin the season for your kid and you will need to deal with all the ridicule and comments you get from other parents.
Do your homework and talk to ex-caps parents. Read between the lines and make your own judgements. You will lean towards staying away from this team.

I agree with this. Was considering this team, but after speaking to a few parents at other skates have come to learn that you're likely in for a difficult, challenging season. Maybe this year will be different, but I would pursue other options as well.

This post is very true. Aside from the team walking out each year, same goes with the bench staff. I'm surprised no one asks the questions like who is on the bench. Does he have 2-3 assistants, a trainer and a manager? Do they have kids on the team? How much is in the budget for coaching fees?

Good questions to ask no matter where you're going. How many returning, who's on the bench, budget, travel & spring plans. If nobody's returning other than coaches' kids (Caps aren't the only team in this situation), why?

I guess one of them would eventually fold. Most of the panthers are going back to A and everyone left the caps. I guess they have no choice.
This wouldn’t surprise me. I heard the last couple of caps skates were embarrassing.
All those panther kids that went to aaa are all back in aa next season . One and done . And I disagree I think 32 and 72 also 11 from VR can hang in aaa . If three panthers did it I’m sure top rangers player will definitely do better
For enough money those Ranger kids will stick with whatever bottom team they pick. Smart decision is to go back to the #1 AA team and move to Jr after. Why get lost on some bottom place team that no scout will ever watch. Unless you’re on a top team in AAA the extra letter isn’t worth it.
Good advice. Although, not sure they will be #1 next year.
Still remains to be seen if they finish #1 this year.

Did they not finish first this year??
I guess depends how you look at it? Yes, they finished 1st when seeded for the playoffs. A great accomplishment.
Would you rather finish 1st for playoff seeding and finish 2nd in the finals? If that happens are you still considered 1st?
Or are you considered 1st when you walk away with championship.
I think you are 1st if you win the championship, otherwise you are like everyone else. Just IMO.

Do you think the TE can win it. That is a tough team to beat 3 times
