Looking for some advice here. My son’s been grinding for years trying to make AAA. He’s a dominant AA player with a big presence on the ice (6’1”, works hard, doesn’t just wait for the puck to come to him). Total leader type, he’s never worn a letter, but he’s definitely the kind of kid who could be trusted with a C.

Here’s the dilemma…should we stick with our current AA team or make the move to play varsity? What’s the best path forward if the ultimate goal is making it to the OHL?
If you believe your son dominates AA, then he should try AAA. However, unless he dominates AAA too, otherwise, no chances for OHL. Good luck!

At 6’1” with a magnetic work ethic and an invisible "C" permanently stitched to his aura, I’m honestly shocked the OHL hasn’t just called him directly to apologize for the oversight.

I heard today at Scotia Duffield is asking for a formal written apology from the game winning puck. They are not accepting the series is over yet.

Give it a rest. That was a fantastic series. Congrats to both MB and DD. Good luck to MB in the finals.

Why call up players when you have a full squad? That’s a ripoff to the team’s ice time. But if they are winning I guess they know better than me.

Because those players are probably joining the team next season

Apparently, there's such a large pool of players trying out for AAA this year that they can afford to be really selective. And let’s be honest, we all know AAA tends to go for the tough, physical players. Those are the ones who seem to get picked, even by the lower tier teams.

It's 4 a.m. and I'm just getting up to start my morning routine, time for a jog to get the cardio in, then straight to the ice. I’ll crush a couple protein shakes, grab a shower, and head to school. That’s the kind of grind it takes when you’re chasing a spot in AAA. Once I make it, I know the doors will start opening from there.
