Hate to break it to all the crazies....this year doesn't matter...have been through it with 2 older boys and U14 changes everything...the little quick kids with good hands that won't go in a corner get eliminated fast...or the concussions get them next year....the big and/or dumb kids with no hockey IQ can't hack it either when the game speeds up and it's not just end to end stupidity...they have to make plays and can't read the playbook......just find a good non parent coach that will pick athletes and intelligent hockey players.....surround yourself with that and kids with good genetics (all these 5'5" dads walking around on platform shoesGuest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 11:27 amBingo. It’s probably the most important development year. The makeup of all of these teams will change for U14. You should be looking for a team with a top tier development plan, not just any AAA team.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 10:14 am Top players from ….
YSE to BJC
NS to WW
KG to QRD
COW to PP
That is how open borders works.
The rest of the teams main focus should be on Development as U13 is a development year.
U14 will introduce contact and everything will change.

That sounds like an excuse to have a weak teamGuest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 9:00 amI heard the NS coach is making this a development year for AA kids since it’s his last year with the team. Is that true?

The fact we are all on here bickering about who is better at U12/13 hockey is pathetic……. Myself included.
Think about it…… grown adults anonymously posting messages about 12 and 13 year olds playing hockey.
I hate my addiction to this site

Agreed on all points. I’ve put 2 kids through this sport and it’s amazing to see how many kids drop off after the first year of hitting. Next year coaches should be looking for the gritty kids and the ones who look to make a play.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 12:48 pmHate to break it to all the crazies....this year doesn't matter...have been through it with 2 older boys and U14 changes everything...the little quick kids with good hands that won't go in a corner get eliminated fast...or the concussions get them next year....the big and/or dumb kids with no hockey IQ can't hack it either when the game speeds up and it's not just end to end stupidity...they have to make plays and can't read the playbook......just find a good non parent coach that will pick athletes and intelligent hockey players.....surround yourself with that and kids with good genetics (all these 5'5" dads walking around on platform shoesGuest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 11:27 amBingo. MW will attract better kids next year. The coaches just need to prove themselves. The fact that they’re non parent is already a huge draw.

Yes there will be a ton of changes going into U14 and even more going into U15, after everything shakes out with hitting and growth spurts. It’s a whole new game when some kids shoot up to 6’ overnight. The whole landscape will change in 1-2 years.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 1:32 pmAgreed on all points. PP is done.. 6 changes. 4 coming from COW. 2 from the AA system. team has a different look... although only tryout skates, a convincing 4-2 win against QRD (with both teams having a few key players out of the lineup) was nice to see. PP could be in the mix this year.
