What is the next great tournament after the Brick? Honestly, feel like a second class citizen in AAA not going to the Brick and don't want this to happen in U13. Is there anything out there internationally or in Canada that equates to Brick Tournament in two years?
The Quebec pewee tournament is the best tournament in minor hockey, it is substantially greater and more important then the brick. Currently G teams are not going to this but this is all changing within the next year. Those who are in the know are already all over this.
The Quebec PeeWee tournament had its day in the 80s but gone downhill since .. nothing compares to the Brick. You are going to miss the pinnacle of minor hockey .. The Brick!.
So for those of you where this is your first go around in minor hockey, ya really need to chill and relax. At this stage it’s all about development, keep pace to stay in triple a if that is what your kid wants. There isn’t a single tournament that matters, including spring hockey before U15. These tournaments do nothing more than boost the egos of parents that don’t have a clue and have never actually played this sport themselves going through the system. Just enjoy the ride of your kid playing, they are all great experiences Forsure but from a hockey perspective it means absolutely nothing. We got 4 more years of nothing hockey before it starts to mean something, and when that time comes all we are as parents are uber drivers and the bank, to give our kids the best opportunity by the hockey gods that will ultimately determine our kids fate. For now don’t take things to seriously. It ain’t worth it

No desrespect to the above post, but Im tired of listing to people saying hockey means nothing before U15 !It actually means more. This is when kids for the most part enjoy and fall in love with the game. It means teaching young kids what sport is all about. Tournaments matter and boost the egos of kids especialy if you get to play a few stress free springs ones. I agree to not take things seriously, but along with the hockey gods your kid that is 7,8,9,10 and is taleted maybe playing in the brick but maybe not yet, come U15 they still will be hopefully great players from all "nothing hockey" . No need to call it a system its sports and from a hockey perspective it means the world. Enjoy it becasue you never know when it might end..

People taking U11 hockey too seriously is what ruins hockey for our kids. It is not “nothing” hockey but it is meaningless in terms of making the next step to OHL/AHL/NHL. Body contact (and puberty) changes the game and the best kids on the ice at this age are mostly there because they have had more training and ice time. The gap narrows from U10-U13 and then it widens again. A lot of top kids stay at the top, play on the Brick and get drafted. Others drop off and some future NHL player probably just got cut and are playing AA.
I have older friends whose kids have aged out, not a single one talks about what Spring team or even Winter team their kid missed out on, they all just miss being at the rink and watching their kid play. My dad came to visit and actually showed up to watch my men’s league game. He loves watching my kids play now. My youngest is a solid AAA player but if he falls behind then I will cheer him on in AA. If he makes the NHL, fantastic. I am pretty sure he won’t as the odds are that 2-3 kids in our entire centre will play a shift in the NHL. Success is raising a kid that loves the sport, is a good teammate and takes something positive out of hockey. This toxic site provides me with lots of entertainment but also scares me sometimes…

I’m tiered of Brent kitchen hitting women…and his little
Girl starting brawls cuz they tease her cuz her hair.
Kitchen is easily top 5 biggest douche bag dads to ever grace the GTHL. It's big on marlies to give his little girl a spot on the team even though by u12 she'll be back with the girls playing ringette.

Normally I don’t agree with slander but I have seen him in action live and I actually feel sorry for the kid…
