You can't blame her for another team's stupidity. Follow the rules and you will have no issues. Don't follow rules and you now see the outcome. Unfortunate for the Rattlers.

Same thing happened to a team we played against in a tourney years back. The team was undefeated ready to go to the next round and someone reported the team for having a player not listed. The organizers stripped them of all four wins and they went straight home. Major bummer but it could of been avoided.

A weekend tourney I get this and I've seen that happen before also. And it sucks. But really it usually just means they miss out on playing 1 championship game. (But winning team probably doesn't feel great knowing they weren't the best team in the tourney and won on a roster technicality)

But in this case, this decision just threw out their entire season! They won't get to play any playoff hockey now. And they had a very good chance of being in the finals. So they are losing that entire month of playoff hockey because of a bench staff issue. Damn.

Harsh punishment but the rules are the rules.
As long as the G always had in their rulebook that teams will forfeit games with an uncarded coach how can anyone argue?

I don't go out and steal from people because our law says I will end up in jail. This is no different. I wouldn't have a non carded official on the bench because my team might have to forfeit.

Wonder how big the fine will be for the organization?

Where are all the MR parents? We know they are on MHT all the time. I want to hear their thoughts on all of this. Did the parents and players know? Why did the organization let this happen? What a foolish way to blow the season for a top team. What's being said within the organization about this now.

No doubt MR was a skilled team. Head coach gone after the year anyway. Toronto Canadiens Junior A. Parents pissed but no one knew. Can imagine kids beyond upset.

All for the sharks to play the Panthers first round for 3 brutal losses.

HVS are classless good 30 goals against 0 GF sounds about right ! Can’t they go to Clancy after 1st round blowout Rattlers will be there waiting!

Sure but who is really taking the blame and getting punished in this decision? The players are the ones that get the biggest punishment out of it. Yes the Rattlers staff and org are the ones responsible for this and its their own fault, but do the boys deserve to have their season ruined because of this.

What an outrageous response. Put your kid in the shoes of the MR kids. Same response? Shrug your shoulders? Would you say: sorry son, those adults who are paid to do clerical work should have done it properly but they didn't so now your season is over. Would you be ok with that? I realize hockey is competitive and everyone just wants for their own kids. But could we please, for one moment, have some empathy for these hardworking kids? Just try to see it from their perspective and from the MR parents perspective. If not, stay in Vaughan with your perfect clerks and little hockey prodigys. Note that my kid does not play for MR and I can see how wrong this is.

MR kids should not be punished for a clerical error by adults.

Suspend the coaches for the rest of year or even for next year...fine the organization

Not an MR parent but couldn’t agree more. Really hope someone is petitioning the G on behalf of the players. To retroactively default half of their games months after they were played, and effectively end their very strong season, is shameful. There has to be a better solution, one that actually has the players best interests taken into consideration.

If there is truth to this being a result of a spiteful parent on another team reporting a clerical error, that person should be totally ashamed of themselves.

It was a clerical registration error for a Trainer at Large.
The mistake was between the organization and the GTHL office. The coaches had no idea, and the kids shouldn’t be punished for that.

the latest hearing was their chance to protest the outcome and they lost. If they took away the points for the HV game game they had to do the same for the rest of the teams affected. Again, feel for the players, the but the G clearly states the rules, coaches should be suspended for next year and org should be heavily fined.
