2015 AAA

Agreed.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 12:33 pmI'm anything but a fan of the GTHL leadership but this is not their issue. The parents and coaches if they have any eyes at all must have been able to see these kids were not up to the AAA standard yet moved forward. It happens almost every season, particularly at the U9 level, but parents still go down that path. Moving players around is pure folly, this is not a convened house league. I wouldn't enter a league where my happy kid on the 4th place team is told he's going to the basement to help them be more competitive. Ridiculous! You have 3 levels of competition for a reason. If you can't handle the consequences that's on you not the league or other teams.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 12:05 pmSorry .. never was it talked about that we were going to get our asses whipped 14-1 in Games 20/21 of the season. The 'gap' in talent was going to close and competitive games were going to start happening by Game 10. Really that is not important, the important thing is to have the league work on a solution. Teams should not be running up the score .. that is the most obvious step. No more goals after 5-0.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 11:46 amIt is probably harder on the parents egos than the kids.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 10:48 amIt is not the parents fault, It is not the kids fault. It is not the coaches fault. They are all entering first year of fully organized hockey. If anything it is a slight blame on TRW Board. They should know if team is competitive enough to operate at the AAA level. From what I know the TRW Board is a strong one, very diverse representation. The big issue is that G has not stepped in and 'convened' appropriately. This could mean moving TRW to AA (i get it very complex) or this could mean moving a couple of players around within existing teams to ensure more competitive games happen. You cannot have back to back 14-1 scores in Game 20/21 of the regular season. This is absolutely insane. It is a horrible horrible year to live through and so many of you don't get it.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 3:14 pmIts the parents who let their kid play on TRW that are to blame. A losing tier 2 NYHL team who keeps half the kids. The parents all chased that extra A so they could tell their friends "my kids plays AAA". They all knew what this season would look like and if not they're just plain dumb. I feel for the kids but the parents are 100% to blame.
You knew what you were getting into. Watching your team through 3 games now, it is clear some kids are improving, and some have not. I am willing to bet those kids that are improving are seeking additional training and the others that are not improving are being left behind. That is on the parents.
As far as 'extra' training .. what does this mean?? We are on the ice 4x/week which is plenty.
And if your kid isn't one of the ones improving, then 4x a week isn't enough. Not all kids start the season at the same level, you need to do more to catch up. Again on the parents.

The AA kids were significantly less skilled.
The team I don't get is TT. Lots of money, sponsorship, EL training them, and they can barely beat TRW. I don't see the improvement with that group.
Re: 2015 AAA
Agreed. Every team is on the ice 4 times a week at a minimum. If you are that far behind then the only way to begin to close the gap is more training, individually and collectively. Doing what everyone is doing isn't going to help. Sorry, again that's on the parents.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 12:40 pmAgreed.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 12:33 pmI'm anything but a fan of the GTHL leadership but this is not their issue. Re: 2015 AAA
MHT proves what kind of sh*t show the GTHL has become.
Better off playing on a decent team in the OMHA where the coaching, facilities are better and parents have way more class.

Re: 2015 AAA
EL not training them unfortunately. EC is a piece of work preventing EL and WW working with their kids and the rest of the team. TT is a dumpster fire of ownership ego.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 12:46 pmSome of them are already shopping around.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 9:11 amVK is going to be worse then they already are this year. The learning lesson had already happen 20 times prior to these 14-1 scores. This is not the real world .. this is youth hockey and 10 year old hockey at that. It is not fun losing 14-1.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 10:00 am
Sorry, that’s on TRW. You’re in the AAA loop, you need to know the level of competition when you start. If you can’t do your job and build a more competitive team that’s on you. Don’t ask your opponent to adjust for your incompetence. Take it as a learning lesson and build for the future. Sorry if that sounds harsh but welcome to the real world.
Have some empathy and stop pumping up the score this isn’t a tournament.
Work on shit like it’s a practice. I don’t disagree. If it’s U13 and up go nuts but these are still little kids. Remember, many still sleep with stuffed animals.
Rumours swirling around rinks and on chats that coach has quit after being attached by a parent.
Any truth to that story?
Re: 2015 AAA
You have played the game at higher level than 99% and don't understand that any two people entering the country at Pearson Airport from a country with no ice can coach an of those teams and they would all have the same record as they do now and still be top 3 teams.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 8:17 pmI spoke to the Nats coach tonight, not a stupid guy by any means, Nats will be a go to team for many kids if they are not already full for next year. How do you blame a guy who's been threatened by parents to call the league cause their kids dont see the ice when they don't deserve it anyways.Guest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 7:10 pmNats were down 4 kids when they played Jrc. 3 of those players are cancers to the team and with them on the ice Nats won't get a win against the top teams. also coach cares way too much about what the parents will say instead of playing to win.
Considering some of the less skilled less hardworking kids they are currently carrying and having the output they are having , I'd say the coaching and program is what people are drawn to , (at least those of us that know or have played the game) that's what peaked my interest in calling.
I've played the game at higher levels then 99% of the non athletic people on here and if you understand it you know there is only a small few teams that are worth it
NATS
JRC
DMF
The rest are a just taking your money
Damn, those kids can play without a coach and the standings would not change.
How with all your wisdom and experience can you no understand that the coaching isn't what makes those teams good?

It's an unfortunate situation. I have empathy for the kids. Woke solutions aren't going to work here. This is AAA hockey. The tough resilient kids will build character.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 12:51 pmAgreed. Every team is on the ice 4 times a week at a minimum.
