nope!! alot of "interesting pickups" are going to happen.

alot of teams are going to cut the short kid with the bad attitude, who was good 2 years ago. so many of those kids around the league. The parents almost always have had a physical altercation at the rink. thats the vermin you need to get rid of

There is more to it than that, Teams are full, you missed skates, coaches in the G are lazy F ucks and do hardly any recruiting they don't see kids at OMHA games they may not see the kids unless they run a pro hockey team in the spring etc. These kids have zero showcase unless theres a run in at a tourney etc. It's a good choice for some of these OMHA guys to go to a bottom five team and try and light it up and grab some ice time so others can see them.

Most good coaches have a pulse on who is good. The issue is that parent think their kid is better than in reality

Good Coaches... that's hilarious. this is just a job for them the passion isn't there for 90% of them. You can't argue that. Everyone at the rinks feels it. Hockey in Canada is in shambles and it's big money now and won't get fixed any time soon. The parents are raising pussies and the coaches come and go and would rather replace than develop kids.

Now that they’re getting older, what are the top 1-2 GTA spring tourneys going to be?

Spring not important for anything. But the ones that seem to attract the best teams are Bauer Shootout and The Throne.

Just do like we do, join them all. I am lucky enough to be in the bottom 4 teams where we can start spring hockey in February.
Wiarton Willie never has a say when spring starts for us. COACHES KEEP THOSE POCKETS OPEN!!!!!, you are about to get a HEFTY insertion into those pockets! Save the talk about development out of it! It’s hockey 52 weeks a year for this FAMILY!!!

Thinking is not your strong point clearly. There are so many variable that prevent kids from getting spots.

Reality is not your strong point. The variable that matters is ON ICE IMPACT. If your kid is a good player, a coach will see it and find a way to reach out, to see if you would be interested in joining the squad.

If all the top teams are not interested nor are the bottom teams, well your rose coloured glasses are deceiving you.

If you want to be noticed, you need to STAND OUT, why would anyone replace a current player with someone that is equal to or worse than an existing player? He won’t, more often than not, you just think your kid is better than he is.

It eats you up inside and that’s why you say “oh but politics, oh but he is getting paid, oh but his mom organized team building events etc”
These are just parents who do not see the true quality of player your son is. He ain’t that good, stop crying and work harder!
