I believe if MR gets points back, ST would be out and HVS would be in at 8.

This is crazy. I disagree with about half of this. But that's why we all get our own opinions. :D

This comment isn't completely wrong. ST has a 3 point lead over HVS for 8th place. ST got 2 forfeit wins from MR, so that's 4 points. HVS got 1 forfeit win over MR for 2 points. So if they both get the points reversed then yes ST stays in 8th by 1 point. But if ST has their 2 games reversed, but the original protest by HVS remains, then ST loses 4 points and HVS keeps their forfeit and HVS moves 1 point ahead of ST.

These are all the considerations that make the reversal decision so difficult.

Not associated with either team but why would the HVS be allowed to keep the 1 protested game while other teams wouldn't?

And demonstrates how dumb the application of forfeits are in this kind of case. The penalty now goes beyond the offending team and affects several teams. Teams are being rewarded forfeit points based solely on luck of the scheduling. The GTHL has to review this rule and change it going forward.

Until the playoff brackets are officially posted and the schedule is up, you don't know nothing.
