This is on the coaches. They're responsible for their players, similar to how a teacher is responsible for the students. BS Certificates issued by HC does not qualify these people to be in charge of kids.

Why don’t you tell us all what sort of certificate and training these unpaid “volunteers” ought to have? Several modules of specific training that focuses on the sport and to all involved including:Gender identity training, first aid training, concussion protocol, respect in sport, police background checks, etc.

I’ll say it again…UNPAID volunteers!

Wrong. Discipline starts in the home. Teach your kids to be respectful of their teammates. Coaches are busy enough getting game plans together and dealing with parents who always email that they can’t get Johnny here or there.

Now if the bullies are the coaches kid, then the association should act and remove them from team if warranted.

Also read any other chat isn this forum, people are always complaining the coaches are too hard on the kids, they are only such and such an age. Which way do you want it?

On our team I already see the kids whose parents let them do what they want without consequence, and quite frankly it shows up when they play.
